Day care or boarding in Tunbridge Wells and the Weald?

Day care is a booked day, with your dog home again the same evening; overnight boarding, whether in a home or a kennels, means a night or more away. Of the fourteen dog boarders and day cares listed across Tunbridge Wells and the Weald, twelve offer day care and eleven offer some form of overnight stay, with nine offering both. Which you need depends less on the dog and more on your own week: a dog left alone all day at home is a day-care case, while a dog whose owner is away overnight needs boarding of one kind or another.

Day care only

Bruce's Tunbridge Wells, a franchise branch running from a dedicated site in Pembury; Little Dale Dogs, trading from a unit in Hawkhurst; and MONKI Dog Care in the Tunbridge Wells area all offer day care with no overnight option.

Overnight only

RTW Dogs, a home boarder combining boarding with grooming, and Mary's Animal Care, a family home boarder around Wadhurst, offer an overnight stay with no day-care option.

Both, under one roof

Scooby's Canine Care, Showpaws and Unleashed UK in the Tunbridge Wells area; Waggatails in Langton Green & Groombridge; Farm from Home and Snuggle and Cuddle Dog Boarding around Crowborough; Bell Reed Kennels and Cattery near Heathfield; and Pampered Waggy Tails and Pets are Life around Wadhurst and Paddock Wood all offer both a day-care and an overnight service, so a dog can try day care at a place before an overnight booking there.

Why the split matters

A licence is issued per category by each council, so a business offering both services on its own site does not always hold a licence covering both equally — Pets are Life, for example, holds separate day-care and home-boarding categories on its register entry rather than one combined licence. Ask specifically which category the licence covers if overnight boarding matters more to you than day care, rather than assuming website wording matches the licence exactly.

Geography plays a part too: outside the Tunbridge Wells area itself, day care and overnight boarding are usually offered by the same business rather than split between two separate ones — in Crowborough & Hartfield, Wadhurst, Ticehurst & Mayfield and Paddock Wood, every listed business offers both. Cranbrook & Hawkhurst is the exception, with Little Dale Dogs as day care only and no overnight option at all in that area; see our area-by-area guide for the nearest alternative if you need boarding there.

Prices and which to ask about

A day's care and a night's stay are not priced the same way even within one business. See our prices guide for exactly what the five businesses that publish a price actually charge for a day and a night.
