Liverpool's 20 listed dog boarders, day cares and kennels are spread across six areas, from the city centre out to Crosby & Bootle and Huyton & Prescot. Every area listed here has at least one business, but the city centre itself has by far the fewest.

Liverpool city centre is thin
The city centre area has only two listed businesses: Woof Wonderland, a day care just north of the centre, and PetStay Liverpool & Knowsley, whose carer network is recorded here but which does not board at one fixed city-centre address. No home boarder or kennels was found licensed with a base inside the city centre itself during this site's research; if you live centrally, it's worth widening your search to a neighbouring area on this page or calling a council directly for its own current list.
Why the areas differ so much
The gap between Crosby & Bootle's five listings and the city centre's two is not necessarily a gap in real demand for dog boarding in central Liverpool: it partly reflects which licensed businesses had a findable phone number and a confirmed base inside each area's postcodes during this site's research, and how each council's own register records an address. A thinner area page here is not the same as a thin market in that part of the city.
Crosby & Bootle: the best-covered area
Crosby & Bootle has five listed businesses, all licensed by Sefton Council, and all of them home boarders offering some form of day care too. None of the five is based specifically in Bootle itself (postcodes L20/L21); all five sit in Crosby, Waterloo or Thornton (L22/L23), a gap worth knowing about if you live on the Bootle side of the area.
Aigburth & Allerton and Huyton & Prescot
Aigburth & Allerton has four listed businesses, licensed by Liverpool City Council, split evenly between two home boarders, Allerton Dog Minders and Happy Doggy Home Boarding, and two day-care businesses, Faye's Doggy Boutique and Tails in the City. Huyton & Prescot also has four, licensed by Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council, and is the only area with a boarding kennels.
Everywhere else
Aigburth & Allerton and Huyton & Prescot each have four listed businesses, a mix of home boarders, day cares and, in Huyton & Prescot, Liverpool's only boarding kennels. Wavertree & Childwall has three, and Anfield & Walton has two. As with any area count on this site, a thinner page reflects which licensed businesses had a findable phone number and a confirmed address inside that area's postcodes during research, not necessarily a genuine shortage of dog care on the ground.
