Dog boarding and day care in Brentwood, area by area

The eleven listed dog boarders, kennels and day cares covering Brentwood sit across four of the borough's six areas; Shenfield and Hutton have no business listed directly in either. This page sets out what is where, with the postcodes each area covers, and what to do if you are in an area with none. Every business on this page, whatever its area, is licensed by the same authority, so the questions worth asking do not change from one area of the borough to the next.

Brentwood: six listed businesses

Brentwood itself has the most choice: home boarders Bed and Biscuit, DogRunners, Weald Walkies and Top Dog Brentwood; the kennels Arllaide Boarding Kennels & Cattery; and franchise branch We Love Pets Brentwood, all licensed by Brentwood Borough Council.

Warley

Warley has one, Marion's Home Dog Boarding, a home boarder offering solo stays with no other dogs present.

Pilgrims Hatch

Pilgrims Hatch has two: Pawtopia Doggy Daycare & Dog Hotel, which holds the council's top five-star licence for both home boarding and day care, and In The Doghouse, which runs day care from a dedicated site and also offers boarding.

Ingatestone

Ingatestone also has two, and they are different in kind: the purpose-built Ladybird Kennel & Cattery, family-run since 1988, and the countryside day care The K9 Paddocks, run on 3.5 acres.

Shenfield and Hutton: no confirmed listing

No business is listed directly in Shenfield or Hutton, though several of the businesses above, including Top Dog Brentwood and We Love Pets Brentwood, say they cover both as part of a wider round. If you are in either area, ask a Brentwood-area business directly whether it collects from your postcode before you rule it out.

One council for every area

Unlike some neighbouring towns split between two or three licensing authorities, all six areas covered by this site — Brentwood, Shenfield, Hutton, Warley, Pilgrims Hatch and Ingatestone — sit inside Brentwood Borough, so a single council's register applies wherever you are in the borough. See our council licences guide for what that register shows for each business named above.

Choosing by area rather than by service

Postcode district is not the only thing to weigh: a boarder a little further away may still cover your postcode, and several businesses above already say they cover more than one of these six areas as part of a wider round. Use this page to see what is nearby, then our day care or boarding guide and home boarding or kennels guide to narrow down which of them offers what you actually need.
