Dog boarding and day care prices in York
Prices are as the businesses published them when we last checked (September 2026). They can change without notice, so confirm them when you book.
Fourteen dog boarders, day cares and kennels are listed for York, spread across City of York Council's own licensing area and, around Tadcaster, North Yorkshire Council's. Only six of them publish a price on their own site or page: Golden Paws of York, Stud Farm Country Club for Dogs, Paws in the Countryside, Peach's Pals, Dunholme Grange Boarding Kennels & Cattery and Waggy Tails / Heather's Lavender Dog Hotel. The rest quote once they know your dog's size and dates, so the figures below are a floor for what boarding and day care cost locally, not a full price list for the town.

Home boarding
Three of York's home boarders that publish a price land close together for an overnight stay: Waggy Tails / Heather's Lavender Dog Hotel and Paws in the Countryside both charge £35 a day, and Golden Paws of York charges £40 for 24 hours with one dog, or £62 for two dogs from the same family, rather than pricing per dog. Waggy Tails states a two-day minimum stay with bank holidays charged extra; Paws in the Countryside also offers a cheaper day-only rate of £25 for dogs that do not need to stay overnight, plus a separate 50-minute dog walk at £13.
Boarding kennels
Dunholme Grange Boarding Kennels & Cattery, near Boroughbridge, is the only boarding kennels here with a published price list: £29 a day for dog boarding, a cheaper £27 a day for day-only boarding, and £17 a day for cat boarding. The other four boarding kennels listed for York — Rose Cottage Farm Kennels & Cattery, Rose Farm Boarding Kennels, Foss Bank Kennels and Ackerley Park Kennels & Cattery — do not publish a price; call and ask once they know your dog's size and dates.
Day care
Stud Farm Country Club for Dogs, in Wigginton, splits its day-care pricing into a full day at £33 and a half day at £21. Peach's Pals, in Tadcaster, publishes only the cost of the paid assessment session every new dog must complete before regular day care is offered, £18 for up to five hours; its ongoing day-care rate is not published and would need to be asked for directly.
Everyone else
The other eight businesses listed for York — Rose Cottage Farm Kennels & Cattery, Good Boy Pet Services, Petpals York, Rose Farm Boarding Kennels, White Daisy Home Boarding & Pet Sitting, Foss Bank Kennels, Ackerley Park Kennels & Cattery and YORPAWS — do not publish a price. This is normal for this niche, and especially so for home boarding, where the rate usually depends on the length of stay, the number of dogs and how far the boarder needs to travel, so have your dates and your dog's details ready when you call. None of the prices above include extras that often apply elsewhere: bank holidays, collection or a second dog from a different household are commonly charged on top, so confirm the final total before booking.
