Bruce's Doggy Day Care (Surrey Hills), near Ripley, is the local centre of a nationwide chain reached by its own doggy-bus collection service. Dog Days Adventure, also near Ripley, runs a countryside day-care centre with swimming and structured games. None of these four boards dogs overnight.

A kennels tends to suit a dog that is happy with its own space and a set routine; a home boarder tends to suit a dog that finds a kennels environment stressful, or one that is used to living in a house rather than a run.
