Boarding kennels
Two of Wakefield's four boarding kennels publish a price, and they are close to each other. Waggin' Tails Boarding Kennels, in the hills at Overton, charges £25 a day for one dog, £38 for two dogs sharing and £45 for three dogs sharing, plus a small £3 extra for a heat lamp. Westmead Kennels & Cattery, near Havercroft, charges the same £25 a day for one dog and £45 for four dogs sharing, alongside cat boarding at £15 a day for one cat and £40 for four. Its day-care rate itself is not published, so call to ask what a day-care session costs separately from grooming.

This is normal for the niche: a home boarder in particular usually prices around the length of stay, the number of dogs from the same household and how far it needs to travel, so have your dog's details and your dates ready when you call.
