Dog boarding and day care in Stoke-on-Trent, area by area
Stoke-on-Trent's 17 published dog boarders, kennels and day cares are spread thinly and unevenly across the town's eight defined areas. Every area has at least one business, but three have only one each, and Leek and Kidsgrove between them account for over half the town's listings.

Hanley & Stoke, and Burslem & Tunstall
Each of these central areas has just one listed business: CJ's Home Boarding for Dogs in Hanley & Stoke, and AXP Dog Service in Burslem & Tunstall, both home boarders. This is a thin showing for the town's most built-up areas, and may reflect how many home boarders in a city trade quietly by word of mouth rather than a genuine absence of anyone boarding dogs there.
Longton & Fenton, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Trentham & Blurton
Longton & Fenton has two, Home2Home4Dogs and The Dog Stop, both home boarders. Newcastle-under-Lyme also has two: The Dog Retreat, a home boarder, and Doggy Day Care in Silverdale, the town's one dedicated day-care site. Trentham & Blurton has one, Your Dog At Our Home.
Kidsgrove and Leek: the two best-served areas
Kidsgrove has four: Eardley Hall Kennels, Audley Lodge Luxury Boarding Kennels, Waggy Walkers and Happy Waggers & Sleepy Whiskers. Leek has five: Ashenhurst Kennels, Lapwing Hall Farm Boarding Kennels, Ruddy Paws, The Peak Dog Retreat and PetStay Staffordshire.
Stone: a genuine gap
Stone has one listed business, New Buildings Farm Boarding Kennels, and it sits just outside the town, licensed by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council rather than Stafford Borough Council. Stafford Borough Council's own register has no address field at all, which makes confirming any other Stone-based business from the register alone impossible; the research behind this page checked every plausible Stafford Borough Council-licensed name individually and found none based in Stone itself, a genuine market or register gap rather than a shortfall in the checking. If you know of one trading in Stone itself, our contact address is on the Stoke-on-Trent page.
Searching by area
If your own area shows little, a business in a neighbouring area may still be within reach: Kidsgrove and Leek, the two best-served areas, are not far from Newcastle-under-Lyme, Burslem & Tunstall or Trentham & Blurton by car. See our council licences guide for which of the four councils covers which area, and what each register does and does not show.
This page is rechecked periodically rather than continuously, so a new business in a thinly served area may already be trading by the time you read this; a phone call to the relevant council is the most current source either way.
