Fairfield Boarding Kennels & Cattery has been run by the Poole family for more than 45 years from Astley, about a mile and a half north of Shrewsbury. It boards both dogs and cats and is licensed by Shropshire Council for boarding, with the current licence running to March 2028. It opens Monday to Saturday, 9:30am to 5:30pm, and Sundays and bank holidays 10am to 4pm, closing over Christmas and Boxing Day. Its own site says it plans to add a new exercise field in 2026.
