How Nottingham's councils license dog boarders
Nottingham's built-up area is not one licensing authority but six: Nottingham City, Gedling, Rushcliffe, Broxtowe, Erewash and Ashfield councils each license the boarding kennels, home boarders and day cares within their own boundary, so the same city has six different registers to check rather than one.

Nottingham City Council: the fullest register
Nottingham City Council licenses nine of the 26 businesses here and publishes the fullest register found for this town: eight of the nine hold the council's top 5-star rating, and the ninth, All About Dogs, is recorded with a 2-star rating on a licence whose expiry date had already passed when checked, so no current licence block is shown for it here; ask about renewal when you call.
Where a star rating is not shown
The other five councils' registers do not give a comparable star figure for every entry. Broxtowe Borough Council is the exception among them: its own published ratings table gives The Paw Pad Nottingham a 3-star rating directly, though the same council's list does not give a star figure for its other licensed business here, Animals at Home (Nottingham). Gedling, Erewash, Ashfield and Rushcliffe's registers, covering 14 businesses between them, show no star rating field at all for any entry, which is a limit of the register available to check, not a mark against any one business.

One business with no register match at all
Nottingham Pet Services, trading from Burlington Road in Carlton, could not be matched to any of the six registers during this research. That does not mean it is unlicensed, only that this project could not confirm one; ask the business directly for its current licence details before booking.
