Dog boarding and day care in Halifax and Calderdale, area by area
Halifax and Calderdale's six areas run from the town centre out along the valley towards Sowerby Bridge, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden, and this directory's nine dog boarding, day-care and home-boarding businesses sit unevenly across them. Halifax north and Illingworth, and Sowerby Bridge, each hold a third of the nine; two areas currently have none at all.

Halifax north and Illingworth
This is the strongest area on this page, with three businesses: Croftmount Pet Resort, a boarding kennels near Ogden, and two home boarders, Millen K9 Services and Freddie's Friends.
Sowerby Bridge
Also home to three businesses: Boothwood Boarding Kennels & Cattery and Toothill Pet Boarding, both kennels in the countryside above the town, and Yappy Days, a day-care centre next to the railway station.
Hebden Bridge and Todmorden
Two businesses cover this area: Sunnyview Kennels and Cattery, a long-running kennels and cattery near Todmorden, and We Love Pets Calder Valley, a home-boarding franchise branch covering Todmorden and the Upper Calder Valley.
Halifax east and Hipperholme
One business is listed here, It's A Dogs Life Halifax, a day-care hall and grooming business at Netherton Mills.
Halifax centre and Greetland and Stainland
No business is currently listed for either of these two areas. This is a genuine gap in what could be found and confirmed with a working phone number, not a sign that nothing operates there: Calderdale Council's own register lists further home boarders in and around Halifax town centre, and Greetland and Stainland had only one further business found in research at all, but neither area produced a business that could be matched to a confirmed phone number within this pass's research budget. If you are near either area, it is worth asking Calderdale Council directly for its current register, or checking with a local vet, as well as looking here.
How these areas were worked out
An area shown here follows the postcode district a business's own site, Facebook page or Calderdale Council's register places it in. A handful of register entries with only "Halifax" as a location were placed in Halifax centre by default rather than left out, so a business's true area within the town is not always independently confirmed. Every business shown also has a confirmed phone number, so the counts above only include businesses that could actually be reached, not every name found in research.
