Dog day care and boarding in Eastleigh, Hedge End and Romsey, area by area

Eastleigh, Hedge End and Romsey's twelve listed dog day cares and home boarders are spread across five areas, licensed by two different councils depending on where the boundary falls. Eastleigh

Two businesses are listed here, both home boarders licensed by Eastleigh Borough Council: Paws for a While, which has a qualified veterinary nurse on its team, and Woof and Meow Pet Services, family-run since 2015.

Chandler's Ford

Three businesses are listed here, split across two councils because Test Valley Borough Council's boundary reaches into part of the village. Let Fi Take the Lead and Pet Carers, Chandler's Ford are licensed by Eastleigh Borough Council; Able Canines, run by trainer Lee Osgood, is licensed separately by Test Valley Borough Council. Let Fi Take the Lead's own site now says it offers dog walking and home visits only, not overnight stays.

Hedge End & Bursledon

Two businesses are listed here, both licensed by Eastleigh Borough Council: All the B's Pet Services, which also cares for guinea pigs, rabbits, birds and reptiles alongside dogs, and Purdys Paws, which publishes its boarding and walking prices and is the only business in this area to do so.

Romsey

Four businesses are listed here, all licensed by Test Valley Borough Council: Wags with Willow, which publishes full prices for walking, day care and home boarding; Country Pooch Dog Daycare and Training Centre, the area's only dedicated day-care premises, with a published address near Ower; Paw Prints Pet Care, run by Tina Pollard; and The Dog Listener, run by dog behaviourist Ian Mackay, who specialises in reactive and aggressive dogs.

North Baddesley

One business is listed here: Pet Carers, North Baddesley, a home boarding carer licensed by Test Valley Borough Council, operating separately from the company's Chandler's Ford carer under the same Pet Carers Ltd network. This is a genuinely thin area rather than a full picture of what may be available locally; a reader based in North Baddesley may want to widen a search to the neighbouring Romsey and Chandler's Ford listings too.

Reading this table

Romsey has the most listings of the five areas, with four, followed by Chandler's Ford with three; Eastleigh and Hedge End & Bursledon each have two, and North Baddesley has one. No area currently has zero, but North Baddesley's single listing means a search based there is worth widening to Romsey or Chandler's Ford, both a short drive away, rather than relying on one business alone.

Crossing council boundaries within one area

Chandler's Ford is the clearest example of why area and council licence do not always line up here: two of its three listed businesses are licensed by Eastleigh Borough Council and one, Able Canines, by Test Valley Borough Council, because the borough boundary itself runs through the village.
