Blackbrook Kennels is a family-run boarding kennels, cattery and grooming business on Ipswich Road near Dedham, run by owner Peter Harrison since 2002 on a site used for boarding for over 50 years. Dogs and cats are kept in separate heated accommodation, with nine grass paddocks for exercise, and an experienced groomer works alongside the kennels. Its site publishes a price list: dog boarding from £20.75 a day for a small dog and £24.65 for a large dog, plus cat boarding at £13.40 a day and a £3.50 daily heating charge. Colchester City Council's register lists a licence here under cat boarding only, though the business's own site advertises and prices dog boarding; ask about this directly before booking.
