Overnight boarding
Four businesses publish an overnight or per-night figure, and they are not directly comparable. ADK9's purpose-built kennels at Breck Farm charge £30 a night; Upperwood, a family-run kennels and cattery near Matlock, charges £27.50 a night for one dog and £37 for two dogs sharing. Spire Boarding for Dogs, a home boarder in the Chesterfield centre area, charges £30 a night for an adult dog and £35 for a puppy under 12 months, while your dog stays in the boarder's own house rather than a kennel. The Old Dog House, also a home boarder, charges £30 for a full 24-hour stay or £21 for an overnight-only stay. Ask exactly what each price includes, and how the first and last day of a stay are counted, before comparing them.
Day care
Three of the six publish a day-care figure: Total Dog Daycare in Worksop, a purpose-built facility, is priced from £22.50 a day; The Old Dog House charges £21; and Spire Boarding for Dogs charges from £20. Upperwood also publishes a weekday day-boarding price of £26 for one dog at its kennels near Matlock, a different kind of day stay from the home-based day care the other two offer.
Add-ons: walking, pet sitting and training
Hayley and Pete Dog Boarding, a home boarder in Alfreton who also boards overnight, publishes stand-alone prices for dog walking (£15 for 30 minutes) and pet sitting (from £25 a day) — neither is a boarding price, but they show what these extras cost from a business that also boards dogs. Total Dog Daycare also runs dog training alongside its day care, with a six-week course priced from £220.
Everyone else
