Cardiff city centre & Cathays
No boarding kennels, home boarder or day care with a confirmed address inside Cardiff city centre or Cathays was found for this research, despite several dedicated searches; the area is dense and largely commercial or student housing, with little room for kennels or a boarder's own house. If you live centrally, Roath & Penylan and Canton & Grangetown are the nearest areas with listings. See the Cardiff city centre & Cathays area page.
Why the split looks like this
Ely & Fairwater's eight listings sit mostly on farms and smallholdings at the city's edge, where there is room for a kennel block or a day-care field that a denser inner suburb does not have. Llanishen & Whitchurch and Penarth & Barry follow a similar pattern on a smaller scale. Canton & Grangetown and Roath & Penylan, both inner, largely residential areas, have only home boarders, which need a house rather than land. Cardiff city centre & Cathays has neither, which fits its density and lack of space rather than a lack of demand.
Choosing an area
Distance matters less for a home boarder you drop your dog with directly than for a day care you might use several times a week, where a shorter drive matters more. Ask any business here whether it also covers a neighbouring area or postcode; several, including Danescourt & Radyr Pet Care and K9 Services Wales, already describe covering more than one part of the city.
