Dog boarding and day care prices in Burnley, Nelson and Colne

Prices are as the businesses published them when we last checked (September 2026). They can change without notice, so confirm them when you book.

Ten dog boarders, day cares and kennels are listed across Burnley, Nelson and Colne, and only two of them publish a price on their own site: Happy Trails and We Love Pets Pendle (Colne), both home boarders shown under the Colne & Barnoldswick area. The other eight, including all four Burnley-area kennels, the two Nelson & Brierfield home boarders and boarding kennels, and the town's one dedicated day care, quote once they know your dog's size, temperament and dates. The figures below are what these two businesses publish, not a price list for the whole town.

Overnight boarding and home boarding

The two published overnight prices are ten pounds apart: Happy Trails charges £40 a night for home boarding, and We Love Pets Pendle (Colne) charges from £50 for a 24-hour stay, which is not quite the same period as a single night. Neither figure says whether it covers a bank holiday, a second dog from the same household, or collection, and neither says whether it assumes a large or a small dog. The other three home boarders listed here — Pacey Pooches and Paws For A Walk in Nelson & Brierfield, and PetStay East Lancs & Bury, whose two hosts cover Barnoldswick and Colne — do not publish a rate at all, so ask for a like-for-like quote covering the same dates and the same size of dog before comparing.

Kennels and day care

None of the four boarding kennels listed here — New Forge Pet Hotel, Nutshaw Kennels and Cattery and Burnley Pet Boarding Centre in the Burnley area, and Stainthwaite Boarding Kennels in Nelson & Brierfield — publish a nightly rate, so a kennel stay has to be quoted directly by phone. Barka Lounge Doggy Daycare, the town's one dedicated day care business, in Colne & Barnoldswick, does not publish a day rate either. Happy Trails' £25 full-day figure is the only day care price on this page, and it is a home boarder's add-on rather than a purpose-built centre's rate, so it may not reflect what a dedicated day care charges.

What to ask

  • Is the quoted price per dog, per night or per 24 hours, and does a late collection cost extra?
  • What does the price include: food, medication, a walk, or all three?
  • Is there a discount, or an extra charge, for a second dog from the same house?
  • Does the price change over a bank holiday or the summer holidays?
