Combining the two
Two businesses on this page hold more than one licence type, which is worth knowing if your needs change over time: Valley View Pet Services is licensed for both home boarding and day care in Blackburn centre, and Lancashire Canine Academy in Accrington runs kennels, day care and dog training from the same site. A dog already settled with either for day care could potentially also stay overnight there, though you should still ask how a longer stay differs from a single day.
Which to choose
If your dog needs looking after during a working day and will sleep at home every night, day care is the closer fit. If you are going away and need overnight cover, you need either boarding kennels or a home boarder.
