Home boarding or kennels in Birmingham?
Home boarding is your dog living in someone else's house for the length of the stay, usually alongside just one household's own dogs and routine. What that means for choosing between them
Because every option here is a home rather than a kennels, the main choice is less "home or kennels" and more which home, and how many other dogs will be there. A direct home boarder such as Fur Family Pets or Au'roar'a means one known address and one known carer; a network such as PetStay means the specific carer is matched to you after enquiry, so it is worth asking who that will be and asking to meet them before your dog's first stay. Either way, ask how many other dogs, and from how many households, will be in the house during your dates.
If a kennels matters more to you than a home
Birmingham City Council's register shows most of its licensed home-boarding supply sitting outside these six areas, further out towards Sutton Coldfield and Erdington, rather than concentrated in a kennels site somewhere central. If a purpose-built kennels genuinely matters more than a home setting, this page's six areas are not where to expect to find one at present, and it is worth checking whether a neighbouring authority licenses a kennels business closer to where you actually need one.
