Dog day care and home boarding prices in Birmingham
Prices are as the businesses published them when we last checked (September 2026). They can change without notice, so confirm them when you book.
Six dog day care, home boarding and pet-taxi businesses are listed for Birmingham, across the Birmingham city centre & Digbeth, Edgbaston & Harborne, Kings Heath & Moseley, Handsworth & Perry Barr and Hall Green & Acocks Green areas (Selly Oak & Northfield currently has no listed business). Of the six, only one, Gabs Dogs, publishes a price on its own site. The rest quote once they know your dog and your dates, so there isn't enough published data here to build a typical-price table the way a larger town's page can.
The one published price
Gabs Dogs, a home-based day care in Birmingham city centre & Digbeth taking small dogs only, charges £37 for a day of care. Booking runs on a membership basis with a minimum of two sessions a month, so that figure is a membership-day rate rather than a one-off drop-in price; ask what a single, non-membership session would cost if you don't want to commit to the minimum.
Why the rest don't quote a figure here
The other five businesses — Fur Family Pets, Bailey's Dog Care Services, Au'roar'a, PetStay – West Midlands South and Bow's Buddies Pet & Taxi Services — are all home boarders or a home-boarding network rather than a single site with a fixed rate card. A home boarder usually prices around the length of stay, how many dogs are involved and where you are, so a rate quoted to one owner in Kings Heath doesn't necessarily tell you what a dog in Perry Barr would be charged the same week. For PetStay specifically, the price is set by whichever local carer takes your dog, not by the franchise office, so there is no single franchise-wide rate to publish even in principle.
What to ask before you compare
- Is the price per day, per 24 hours or per night, and how are the first and last day of a stay counted?
- Does the price change for a second dog from the same household?
- Is collection, a bank holiday or a longer stay charged at a different rate?
- For a franchise network like PetStay, does the individual carer set their own price, or is there a fixed franchise rate?
With five of the six businesses quoting only by phone, the most useful thing this page can do honestly is set out the one published figure and the questions worth asking everyone else, rather than guess at a typical rate that Birmingham's current data doesn't support. See our choosing guide for what these six businesses actually offer and how to pick between them.
